Recapping the London sprint

The sprint is already over!

Thanks to the gracious hosting by Jane Street, we gathered a bit less than 20 people every day and managed to discuss and work on a large variety of subjects, including truly riveting discussions over the genetics of cross-breeding apples and oranges over lunch break.

Mercurial at FOSDEM 2026

FOSDEM 2026 featured three compelling presentations about Mercurial, showcasing its ongoing innovation, performance improvements, and the impact of Rust integration. All talks were delivered by core Mercurial developers Raphaël Gomès and Pierre-Yves David, both from Octobus.

Announcing Mercurial sprint in London, May 27-29th

We are happy to announce that we will be holding a Mercurial sprint in London, UK from May 27th to 29th 2026.

This sprint is intended for a wider audience than the previous Grenoble mini-sprint. It aims for Mercurial and Heptapod users, developers and other actors in the version control field to gather and discuss their needs and help plan for the future.

Mercurial 7.2 released

This new major version has been delayed for a good while. We are reworking so much of the internals these days that it felt prudent to delay the final release as much as needed and roll out nightly versions to (consenting) users until we felt comfortable enough about the stability of the release.
